SIGNATURES OF STONES & CRYSTALS

SIGNATURES OF STONES & CRYSTALS

Both stones and crystals have been used for centuries in healing traditions and ceremonies – from opal to jade. While both are made of minerals, inorganic solids, there are important differences in their structures.

Minerals like quartz, have a crystalline structure of uniform, repeating patterns – like salt. Other minerals have “aggregate or polycrystalline structures” such as agate. When materials have no crystalline systems, they may be called amorphous. This category includes stones such as opal.

Each stone or crystal vial in this kit has a unique energetic oscillation – its energetic shape identified. The frequency of an oscillation, the number of times it repeats in a second, however, may be influenced by physical parameters. Quartz, for example, is a piezoelectric crystal commonly used in clocks and electronics. The frequency of quartz, the number of oscillations in a second, can vary depending on shape or colour of the crystal. The signature of quartz in our vial, again, represents the original oscillation.

“Piezoelectricity” was discovered in 1880 by French physicists Jacques and Pierre Curie. In their investigations, the brothers had combined “their knowledge of pyroelectricity with their understanding of crystal structures and behaviour…”.  Pierre and his wife Marie Curie are well known for advancing our understanding of crystallography, radioactivity and more.

“The piezoelectric effect is the ability of certain materials to generate an electric charge in response to applied mechanical stress.” Certain crystals and bio-materials (natural and synthetic) have been found to be piezoelectric including bone and some proteins. Collagen fibres are piezoelectric polymers. These fibres are tethered to every cell in the body thereby making fascia a part of the nervous system.

Not all crystals are piezoelectric. However, all crystals and stones have qualities identified in healing traditions around the world. In Traditional Chinese Medicine the gua sha stone is often made of jade, also called the stone of heaven. Historically prized for its durability, it is variously associated with longevity, wealth and protection from misfortune.

The stones and crystal vials in this kit may be paired with other relevant signatures and potential stressors to support or to help identify an energetic narrative. Pairings may include body parts sarcodes, meridians, chakras, nosodes and more in muscle testing.
